Miriar sat in the corner, small, confused, and frightened. She couldn’t understand where her parents were. Why did her mother cry so loudly and hug her so tightly and then let her go? Why did her brother yell at everyone and then promise he would find her…no matter where she went? She clutched her small teddy bear fiercely and wouldn’t speak to the concerned large person asking her “didn’t she want to eat?”
She didn’t know how long that journey was, it seemed to last forever, but finally the boat reached a harbor that the large person said was Lion’s Arch. Then he said that her Aunt Angelique would be waiting for her. Who was that?
“Hello Miriar.”
Miriar solemnly looked at the woman and clutched her teddy bear more tightly.
“Who is that?” the woman said with a smile and gently touched the teddy on the nose.
“His name is Bryant”, Miriar said.
“That’s a nice name” said the lady.
Miriar smiled for the first time since she had left home and held out her small hand to her Aunt Angelique. “Where are we going?”
“To your new home, I think Bryant will be happy there”
