The tide washed up against the shore with a gentle repetition, Waking Asuir from a sickingly deep sleep. His awakening was met with a deep pain in his left arm where the bone meets the socket of the shoulder, and forced him to let out several cries of pain as he forced himself up onto his feet. Vision still blurred he panned around scanning the area around him. He had been here before, fate it seems, had left him in an all too familiar place.
"Shing Jea island?" He began to talk but stopped when he realized no one was around. In fact the place was deserted, not one person could be seen for miles.
Hobbling closer to a cast-iron gate along the edge of the beach he realized where exactly he was. He walked up to the gate, still unable to move his left arm at all, and removed vine and rust from a plaque attached to the fence, confirming his suspicions. It read: "Ran Musu Gardens".
Amy's family owned these gardens, Asuir knew them well, being the place he proposed to his beloved and the location of many of their meetings. He also knew that the family wouldn’t be using them again for a good year or so, as such it would be the perfect place to hide out and recuperate from the fall.
The burning sun blazed high in the sky signaling the mid day hour, scorching the air in the most uncomfortable manner. Asuir didn’t like the heat, so holding his injured arm close to his chest, he forced the gate to the gardens open with his right shoulder and made his way to the bottom of the garden and took shelter in the shade under the bridge. In front of him flowed a freshwater stream that ran all the way through the gardens and provided a means of fresh drinking water and a way to clean his wounds. After looking at his scrapes and cuts, the Ritualist investigated the immense pain in his left arm. No bones found protruding from the skin. A good sign.
"Looks like its dislocated" he said to himself. His medical training was very minimal, and would be even worse if not for his wife literally forcing him to see a monk when he was sick (not that he would ever admit needing one).
With an agonizing crunch the bone rolled back into its socket and Asuir produced a scream of burning pain which caused the birds nesting in the blossom trees of the gardens fly away in a frenzy. Nursing his arm he noticed a difference, the pain was almost gone as result of the self help he just performed. Falling back into the grass he lay for a few moments, listening to the water in the garden, thinking about Amy as he drifted away into a deep sleep.

“How in the world will we find him?” Cat looked at Calif with a dismayed look on her face.
Calif shrugged then said, “We better find him first, Kalk was pissed…he’ll kill him for sure.”
Rex shook his head…”How do we even know he’s still alive?”
“We don’t, but we better assume he is until we have proof otherwise.” Calif looked at the small boats lining the shore that the fishermen that helped supply the guild used. “That would be a logical way to escape.”
The three then headed to the fishermen’s shacks to see if a boat was missing. Calif glanced over at Cat…”don’t worry, we’ll find him first.”
Cat smiled at her friend, “I hope you’re right, for Amy’s sake.”
Once they verified that a boat was indeed missing, they caught a ride with a group headed for the nearby island of Shing Jea.
The trip was unpleasant due to the rough weather and the three set foot on the shore with a definite look of relief. As they looked around to decide on a direction to take, Cat shouted and began jogging up the beach.
Calif and Rex looked at each other, shrugged, then followed. They soon caught up with her, “Where are you headed in such a hurry?”
Cat glanced over at Calif…”Somewhere around here is a garden owned by the Mackenzie family.”
Rex snickered…”With your sense of direction, we’ll never find it.”
