Asuir fell back slothingly in the dirt and let out a sigh as he looked up at the full moon.
"But..how can I give her all that ? I'm not a great warrior or general… I’m useless". Asuir thought of his wife still asleep in their tent. About how he promised her father he would take care of her. It was a warm night, but there was a gentle breeze that pushed the foliage around the camp into a sway, creating a hypnotic rustling sound.
Laheri sat in the same spot under the moonlight for what seemed a lifetime thinking, until he noticed the shadow of another person moving between the encampment. The shadow belonged to a largely built male, heavily armoured and armed with a longsword but moving with stealth headed towards the main armoury. Asuir leaned forward attempting to focus better on the figure through the darkness, when suddenly from behind a hand grabbed him, covering his mouth. The hand belonged to the guild leader himself, Racthoh Demini. Making gestures to Asuir for him to remain quiet, Racthoh released him. Quietly the warrior leaned close and whispered to the Ritualist.
"We have ourselves a traitor; He goes now for the Sword, for MY sword."
Asuir looked at Racthoh in surprise.
"For Scars Meadows?"
"Indeed, and we most move quickly if we are to stop him." Racthoh rose to his feet and slid carefully down the hillside towards the armoury, followed closely by Asuir.
"We will surprise the culprit and catch him in the act, when I give the signal we will move in and arrest the traitor." Asuir nodded in confirmation.
The two waited a while outside the armoury and waited for a light to emit from within where the thief had light a candle to find his target.
"Go now!"... ordered Racthoh, as the two burst into the armoury.
"Knoll!.." Asuir shouted in surprise..as he faced Guardsman Knoll arm outreached holding the dark blade, eyes glazed over, blacker than night.
"Shelahi Kahne romakkkk" Screamed Knoll.
Asuir took a step back and looked at Racthoh.
"W-what is he saying..". Asuir's heart started to beat faster.
"Dont show him any fear boy.." Racthoh said coldly, as he picked up a longsword from the floor of the armoury. "He has been coming here every night, taking the blade, letting it corrupt his mind."
Asuir arched his arm back high, the air began to vibrate and heat up. Slowly he pulled a long, jagged blade from what appeared to be thin air. He flourished the weapon from the spirit world, obviously familiar with how it worked and got ready for the confrontation with knoll.
"We must be careful". Racthoh warned moving slowly to the left side of knoll around the racking of weapons. Not sure what he meant, Asuir brandished his summoned weapon and walked equally as slow to knolls right.
Knoll didn’t move at all, head facing directly down at the floor, seemingly gazing at the rose imprinted on the side of the blade.
Racthoh dashed forward aggressively and swung his sword upwards towards Knoll. A clash of steel followed as the attack was blocked by the flat side of Scars Meadows. Asuir followed Racthoh's example and pressed on the attack, coming downwards into knolls shoulder with his blade, severing a main artery. Knoll let out no cries of pain and took the point of the weapon in his bare hand, picked up the Ritualist, and threw him into a rack stacked with axes causing a loud crash as the weapons scattered all over the armoury. Racthoh seized the moment and drove his longsword into Knoll's side just bellow the arm pit right down to the sword hilt. The sudden impaling caused Knoll's arm to involuntarily shoot out, throwing the blade to the ground which slid towards Asuir, who was still clambering out of the pile of axes. Pushing the heavy steel of him and dusting him self off, Asuir looked up at Racthoh, who was looking over Knoll.
"Is he ...".
"He is breathing..very shallow, but breathing." Racthoh turned to Asuir who was still on his hands and knees.
Asuir moved his hand to what he thought was floor to push himself up off the ground, when he felt a sharp and sudden searing pain, he let out a scream and fell over clutching his hand. He had touched the dark blade as he attempted to rise.
"Asuir NO ...Do...nt.....tOuc...hH...t..."..
Asuir's hearing became distorted, as though he was listening underwater. A terrifying loud sound filled his ears, a sound similar to a hurricane. The only thing he could beyond the distortion was a voice.
"Asuir...Asuir...I can bring you what you desire, I am the key, I will put your wife upon a throne, I am the blade...I am Scars Meadows".
