"Wake up..." said an unfamiliar voice..."Hey wake up ..." again the voice promted. "Father?" Dahnel awoke on the deck of the trade ship rubbing his eyes and attempting to block the sunlight from his vision. "Father ? ...did you hit your head or something lad ?" ..as Dahnel's vision returned he looked up to see the ships captain standing over him. "Oh ...its you ..where are we ?" Dahnel asked the captain . " ..We are docked in the Amnoon Oasis , its not looking good though, Orrian refugees everywhere and only a handful of people to help out ...though i did speak to a nice young lady by the name of Cat Ma-" he stopped as he notice the impatiant look on the young warriors face. "..well ..thats not important ...lets get you and these people onto land, despite the tragedy of recent events i still have a business to run y'know". Dahnel was less than impressed at the captains enthusiasm to get the orrians off his ship. Dahnel attempted to rise to his feet but failed the first time...lack of sleep, food and the voices of the lost playing on your mind can have such adverse effects on ones body. "uhg..." he let out as he forced him self to stand, slowly making his way onto the peer and onto the burning sands of the oasis.
A large mass of voices was all that could be heard as Orrians rushed around to collect supplies from volunteers enlisted to help those that escaped the destruction. Right in the centre of the chaos is when it hit him ..everyone he had ever know, his father, his friends ...all dead in the invasion. He collapsed to his knees on the hots sands, a blank look on his face as he thought about the numbers lost. "Father ...what happend to you ..." he let out a single tear which seemed to take an eternity to hit the dry amnoon ground, which was absorbed almost instantly by the thirsty sands.
Suddenly his expression changed as he came to a realisation.."Racthoh ...Racthoh Demini ..he was there the day of the cataclysm ...in the palace...he surly would have seen what happend to my father..". "Are you alright ?" a question from nowhere, directed at the warrior kneeling in the dirt from a soft calm voice of a young woman. A ranger girl now stood infront of him arm outstretched offering him and hand up off the floor. He took her hand and quickly got up.."Yes i'm..i'm fine" ..Danhel replied , trying not to show his sorrow. "Well you looked like you where cryin-" her sentance was quickly broken by the start of Dahnels objections."I was'nt crying ..i ..i was", "Its ok ..this has been a terrible tragedy, you should'nt keep it all to yourself are you sure you dont want to talk to me about it". she was clearly concerned for the warrior despite being a total stranger. "..I have to find someone ..." Dahnel changed the subject quickly "Who are you looking for maybe i can help.." The young ranger offered. "A warrior by the name of Racthoh Demini.." Dahnel expected her to have no information at all. "Ah ..THE Racthoh Demini ?" she replied, "I believe he was to start a new war campaign in the lands of canthan last i heard..". "Cantha ....then that is where i must go.".
His sole objective and focus was now locked on finding Rachthoh Demini. "Where can i find passage to cantha ?" he asked the young ranger. "I think i saw a boat that just came in that has to return to Cantha because the amnoon officials are'nt taking in anymore visiters due to the current emergancy". Dahnel turned and looked up the harbour to the ship about to set sail for Cantha and without looking back said thank you to the ranger girl before taking off at full speed to catch the boat before it set off. "Please you have to let me on" he begged the first mate now standing at the anchor release at the dock.."well ok...not like we are going to be delivering today anyway with all the rukus going on around here". Dahnel stepped onto the ship and looked around. A few crates of low grade trade supplies, some live stock and a few passengers where all that decorated the ships capacity. just as the boat began moving he looked over to the other side of the ship to see a young man stood looking over the edge in the direction they where headed.
Thinking he could get some info about Cantha from the passengers, he slowly walked over to the young mans side and joined him as they watched the waves. "I love the sea.." said the young man before Dahnel had chance to speak. "Oh ..i'm sorry , hello ..my names Asuir, Asuir Laheri..and you are?" he looked politly at Dahnel, unaware of his Orrian origin. "huh ..oh ..my name is Dahnel Taijuir..". "Pleased to meet you Dahnel" replied Asuir. Dahnel looked him up and down, his outfit was very unfamiliar to him and he did'nt quite know what to make of his new "friend".
