The Mackenzies:
Cat Mackenzie: The Ranger
Cat awakens once again to the sound of their whispers. She quickly glances at her sisters,…good they are sleeping still….she breathes a sigh of relief. She was not in the mood to comfort them. Again. She quietly leaves the warmth of her bed to listen at the door….how could she protect her sisters if she didn’t know what to protect them from she reasoned.
She heard her father’s voice…….”I have to go. There is no work here for me. I’m not a farmer…I’m a soldier…you will be better off without me.”
“Better off?! How? You leave me with four children to care for? How can I do this alone? How dare you leave us?” her mother cried.
Then she heard the door shut behind him as he left….she had not heard his voice since that night. One day she would find him….and tell him just what she thought of him.
Mostly Harmless: The Warrior
"Kenzie what are you doing?" Seems that was all she heard from her sister Cat these days. Why couldn’t she understand? She had to fight….that name the others gave her…”mostly harmless”. Indeed, she would show them “mostly harmless”. Maybe she didn’t know how to fight at first. Now she knew, and she would prove it. She just had to find a fight, a battle, and then she would prove it to her sisters. She is a soldier.
Angel Mackenzie: The Monk
Too much like father, Angel sighed; as she watched Cat and Kenzie go at it once again. Kenzie is just like father and Cat is afraid she will lose her…as she lost father. Then Angel, the gentle peacemaker, once again goes to intervene, to council, to make peace between her sisters.
Icecool Witchblade: The Elementalist
“Alice, why won’t you help me keep peace?” an exasperated Angel muttered to Alice Mackenzie as she hurried towards the uproar.
“Don’t call me Alice…you know I hate that name. Besides, I’m bored…that is the only entertainment I’ve had today.” Ice watched with anticipation as Cat and Kenzie squared off. This is going to be a good one. She feels only a little sorry for Angel…too much like mother…too gentle…the world will eat her alive.
